Story
Children of the Phoenix is a linear, story-rich visual novel set on a farm in Colorado. The residents welcome furkin who have had trouble dealing with both furkin and human society. Most of the time they are counseled, patched up as needed, and sent on their way. Occasionally though, someone is dropped on their doorstep who is beyond the usual trouble. The latest stray is just that and threatens to break apart the close-knit family.
Characters
Mihkawikiw Lynx 'Mica'- Born in northern Canada. Eventually, he and his family moved to Detroit. Mica took to city life but was unable to find a job. He got involved with furkin gangs and ended up being forced to flee the city and making a living on the road playing poker.
Nathan Greyfeather 'Nate'- Retired professional poker player. Owner of Westbranch and other properties in the area.
Simone Leopard- Originally immigrated to the US from South Africa with her family when she was young. Studied finance in college and after a number of misfortunes took to the road. Finally, she was offered a job running Westbranch commune.
Maxine Collie 'Maxie'- Grew up on her family farm in Ohio and spent several years working at various farm jobs in the midwest. Currently farm manager at Westbranch.
Production notes
Images were created entirely in 3D using Blender, Unity, and Substance Painter.
All the characters are embedded in the scenes, there are no sprites.
3D furry characters were created from scratch in Blender by Shunaka. The backgrounds and sets are Unity assets.
Note: This release is safe for work though it does contain some strong language.
Streaming: This is also in the works, probably on Picarto.

It's a cute and surprisingly wholesome game! 3D can be a tough cookie to sell but you make it work. If you can slowly improve and update your models without having to redraw scenes, I think you are on to something. Keeeeeeeeep upppp (I will)
Thanks so much for your kind comments! I'm constantly making small tweaks to the character models though at this point wholesale changes are less likely. Redoing scenes can be done but that requires re-posing all the models which is somewhat time-consuming.
At this point my main focus is finishing this story so I can start the next one.
Never seen a game take this art direction, super cool!
